Life and Teachings of the Buddha

The life and teachings of the Buddha as told by  Ananda in the sutras of the  Pali Canon.  Follow the Buddha's footsteps during some of his teaching tours to find out where he stayed and the people he met on the way. Since many parts of this story are the words of the Buddha according to Ananda in the sutras, one will also be able to know what he taught the audience at the time.  The emphasis of the legend is not exclusively on the events that occurred in the Buddha's life, but also the content of his teachings at these events as well since these are truly the essential aspects that made the story significant. For example, get to know what the Buddha discovered when he directed his unified attention on the originating root causes of dukkha and all phenomena after emerging from deep meditation. And what are some of the first key teachings he gave that brought his disciples to the same state of Arahantship. The story of the Buddha teaches the lessons of life and awakening.

Note: The story was compiled from the Digha Nikaya, Majjhima Nikaya,  Khuddaka Nikaya (Jataka,Dhammapada stories, Udana, Milindapanha),  and the Samyutta Nikaya of the Sutta Pitaka , also the Mahavagga of the Vinaya Pitaka.
